24: A BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED 1935 CHRYSLER AIRFLOW IMPERIAL

This 1935 Chrysler Airflow Imperial Series C-2 comes from the Joseph family of Belleville, Illinois, owners of the world's oldest Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep agency until August 1, 2006. Unfortunately, a scrapbook documenting the parades and shows and appearances of this classic automobile were lost in a house fire along with its last owner, Oliver D. Joseph.

Oliver's son relates that, 'The car was displayed at several autoshows by Chrysler in 2009 and 2010 and was supposedly in an American Girls movie Kit Kittredge. I have a picture with Ralph Gilles, former president of Dodge and Chief of Design for FCA, with the car and it delivered some actors to the premiere of a movie about an alien titled 'Belleville' that premiered in Belleville where our dealership was.'

Restored to near original condition, very good running condition with flat head eight cylinder engine and three-speed manual transmission, the odometer shows 31,000 miles.

The introduction of the Airflow's wind-cheating design coincided with the ground breaking designs of streamlined locomotives, zeppelins, ferries and Chrysler competitors.
Very good condition restored condition throughout, noting that the transmission tends to pop out of first gear at times. Sold as-is where is.
