Obverse bears a shield with Brinly registered trade mark, reverse reads 'Brinly-Hardy Co. Incorporated manufacturers BRINLY PLOWS AND IMPLEMENTS, LOUISVILLE, KY.' Whitehead & Hoag maker marked.
In 1900, the firm was re-incorporated as Brinly-Hardy Co., and in 1902 James E. Hardy was appointed president shortly after Thomas Brinly's death.
