First Lt. Harry C. Olsen, 8th AAF. Uniform consisting of: Tunic with 8th AAF SSI on left sleeve, EOD insignia on lower right sleeve, three ribbons, PVC, shirt, tie, dog tag, garrison cap, Sam Brown belt. Plus: a binder with period original multiple documents; Four 194 newspapers relative to war; Visor cap eagle; Four bullion overseas bars; Military Testament; Booklet 'Mines and Booby Traps' 81 pages; Military Basic Course 4 pages; Three other manuals; and Cased Bronze Star with shrapnel and disc pin.
First Lieutenant Harry C. Olsen, USAAF, 510th Bomb Squad (H), 251st Bomb Group, 8th AAF European Theater: Initially enlisted in the AAC, but was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant with assignment as an Ordinance Officer, Air Ordnance Department. Assigned to the 510th BS at Polebrook, England. His Mission was to determine bomb loads, but as also an EOD technician. Although not qualified as a pilot, he flew two bombing missions as a co-pilot, 17-18 March 1945.
