178: A NICE CLEAN SPRINGFIELD US MODEL 1873 TRAP DOOR RIFLE

The walnut stock with original butt plate, 31 inch barrel with capital A stamp top and additional cartouches along left side, serial number 405861, circa 1888, nice condition.
The gun is 51.5 inches in length.
Very good condition, 90%+ good even brown patina overall, a limited number of light surface scratches, apparently the original finish, small wood chip near front collar, original rod. Clean bore with strong rifling.
