18: AN IMPRESSIVE MARBLE AND ORMOLU MARTI PORTICO CLOCK SET

The outstanding French three-piece clock set comprised of an impressive central demilune portico clock with two half-round tiers, the upper supporting a circular brass case with coined pattern and brass plate clock movement faced by a porcelain enamel dial painted by hand and decorated with floral garland and Arabic numerals on porcelain enamel over copper, time and strike, signed Marti on the movement; topped by an urn with ormolu goat's heads, the case supported on marble pedestal with ormolu Minerva head flanked by six marble urns topped by ormolu flames, six marble columns supporting the half round tier with ormolu gallery, ormolu garland and sunburst pendulum bob, ormolu mounts throughout and four toupie feet.

A very similar pair of white marble candelabra with ormolu mounts and six foliate arms.
Clock measures 21.5 x 12 x 7 inches. Candelabra 21 inches high.
