18: A NEW YORK CENTRAL LOCOMOTIVE BELL ATTR TO MOHAWK 2823

The bronze bell displaying an oval medallion within a recessed frame ground into the bell wall; cast iron yoke with lever arm and distinctive circular base, stamped numerals of 2823 on the bell's top in two places; possibly from NYC 4-8-2 'Mohawk' locomotive No. 2823.
Measures 17 x 19 inches. Diameter is 14.5 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
