421: A 19TH C. ELECTROSTAIC GENERATOR SIGNED BENJ PIKE JR

The interesting sculptural apparatus comprised of a 12-inch glass disc mounted to two turned walnut columns with brass handle, dual brass orb topped conductors, all mounted to a T-shaped base with bone tag etched BENJn PIKE JR No 294 BROADWAY NEW YORK and raised on short glass and wood legs.
Measures 33.5 x 47 x 24 inches including glass wheel. Stool measures 8.5 x 12 x 16 inches.
The condition is as shown in the images, noting changes, cracks in the glass and any absent components.
