329: SHEPARD HARDWARE SPEAKING DOG & PUNCH AND JUDY

The cast iron bank lettered 'Speaking Dog' along the base in raised letters, manufactured by the Shepard Hardware Company in Buffalo, New York, patent dated 1885. Place a coin on the tray in the girl's hand, the dog opens his mouth and wags his tail, her arms move and the coin falls into the bank.

Speaking Dog is offered with a re-painted small letter variant Punch and Judy mechanical bank also manufactured by The Shepard Hardware Company of Buffalo, New York around 1884.
Measures 7.25 x 6.5 x 2.5 inches each.
Speaking Dog is good to very good condition noting moderate to heavy paint wear and somewhat limited range of motion making operation less than perfect every time.

The majorly re-painted Punch and Judy bank is in good working condition.
