The finely executed likeness of a gentleman in 1830s garb against a pleasing blue ground painted by hand employing a wide range of complex colors, displayed in a memorial locket frame assumed to be 9 carat gold (this has not been confirmed) with a plume of hair and seed pearls, unsigned, no markings found.
