The lithograph from an edition of 250 prints published by Associated American Artists is signed by the artist in pencil below the image lower right and recorded as Fath number 8.


Benton's comments in Fath read: Drawing made in South Carolina in 1934 - showing Tugwell's program in operation.

Under the Agricultural Adjustment Administration during the Great Depression, recently planted spring crops were once ploughed under in an attempt to stabilize prices.

The label verso is for a different Thomas Hart Benton print.
Image measures 8 x 13, frame size 18 x 22.75 inches.
Very good to fine condition, the full untrimmed sheet, not laid down, no damage, stain, puncture or repair; framed to archival standards in acid free mounts.
