173: A CIRCA MID 20TH CENTURY BEN SHAHN CHRISTMAS CARD

The paper sheet with faint central fold line is screen printed on one side as shown, and blank on the other. A pencil inscription on the paper covering verso reads, ' Christmas Card from Ben Shahn to Dr. Cotter Hirschberg.'

This item is consigned by the the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery - Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, presumably the source of the inscription on the paper covering.

Dr. Cotter Hirschberg joined Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas in 1952 and served as director of children's services from 1957 to 1970.
Overall framed size measures 15.75 x 24.5 inches.
Very good condition.
