311: AN 18TH CENTURY LONDON GEORGE III STERLING TEA SET

Engraved family crest on each with motto 'Ne Quid Falsi' (Nothing False) and coat of arm on each, the tray engraved 'Remembered & Beloved Gen. West Hyde, died 25, Feb, 1797 Aged 62.' Seven pieces total including the large sterling silver serving tray and small sterling silver stand with wood insert.

London date marks for 1797 throughout. Maker's marks on the sugar, creamer, coffee pot, small tray and smallest teapot for Henry Chawner & John Emes. The chocolate pot bears the marks of John Emes. Maker's mark on the large tray 'TR.' Tipping teapot (no base) dated 1931 and marked William Comyns & Sons Ltd.
Measure from 5 to 15 inches in height. Tray measures 25.5 x 16.25 inches. Total weight 206.57 ozt. not including the small tray with wooden insert in the base.
Very good condition, noting a few fine scratches on the large tray, a very small dent on the spout of the coffee pot, a dent on the body of the teapot,
