The impressionist oil on canvas of a sitter turning at the waist is signed lower right.

It appears that a body of work from this quiet but schooled and capable artist, Martin E. Hoy, came to market as a group, perhaps from the estate of a relative of the artist, in New York in 2013. To date, no biographical information on the artist has been compiled.
Canvas measures 28.5 x 22.5 with a framed size of 31 x 25 inches.
Very good professionally restored condition noting minor touches of professional inpainting left and right side away from the figure. There are no other issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
