18: FINE ZUNI STERLING AND TURQUOISE CHEVRON PAIR

Each sterling silver chevron-form ornament with stamped decoration is set with thirty-seven well-matched teardrop shape turquoise stones in sawtooth bezels. The pair is mounted with circular eyelets back side for securing to a garment, most likely intended for adorning shirt collar tabs. There are no maker's marks. Each has nice patina, the pair circa 1930s.
Each measures 4.75 x 3.25 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
Provenance: The 40 year collection of Father Tom Wiederholt, Kansas City, Missouri. Tom was a close personal friend of scholar and curator Ralph 'Ted' Coe who advised Tom on most of his acquisitions.
