135: AFTER SIR DAVID WILKIE THE DEFENCE OF SARAGOSSA

An oil on panel after the original painting by Sir David Wilkie (British, 1785-1841) painted in 1828. The sight size through the frame is 30 x 41.75 and the frame measures 38.5 x 50 inches.
Good original condition, noting extremely minor bits of paint loss and a tiny puncture below the image of the wheel. Examination under UV light reveals a circular area of discoloration and other irregular spots of discoloration. No inpainting indicated.
