449: ANCIENT CHINESE JADE, CARNELIAN, AMBER
The necklace comprised of beads of various sizes, shapes and types makes an interesting and valuable collection of semiprecious materials.
With provenance to the collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888-1948) of Kansas City, Missouri, it is worth noting that Mrs. Hall's notes confirm she was buying Chinese antiques from dealers in Chicago and New York during the teens and 1920s.

Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
