LESTER RAYMER (1907-1991) SLIP DECORATED ROOSTER

14: LESTER RAYMER (1907-1991) SLIP DECORATED ROOSTER

Lester Raymer (1907-1991)

The rare slip decorated pottery figure with pronounced tail, modeled comb, and sculpted wattles is elaborately decorated to a higher degree than the normal Raymer potboiler. The work is scratch-signed RAYMER along the outside edge of the base and lettered Red Barn Craft Shop Lindsborg, Kan inside the hollow base.
Measures 10.75 x 4 x 7 inches.
Very good condition, noting a chip to the beak and an old chip at the base, probably original to the creation.
Provenance: The Susan Koehn Estate Trust Newton, Kansas
