497: AN ADAM STYLE CARVED AND GILDED WOOD MIRROR CIRCA 1930

The nice quality example with beveled plate is carved, gessoed and with a mellowed gilt finish.
Measures 59 x 34 inches.
Very good condition, noting scattered areas of surface loss (gilding and gesso) equaling approximately 10% of total area, a very shallow rub or flake to the lower tip of the bottom carving.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
