73: A 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN CHERRY SLANT FRONT DESK C. 1840

The flat top with exposed dovetailed joints tops the fitted interior accessible by a drop front supported by pull-out slides above four drawers of graduated sizes with their original wood pulls. The sides of this case piece are constructed from a single wide board confirming that the feet are in original condition. The back is constructed from poplar planks placed horizontally per construction methods from the first half of the 19th century.
