111: THOMAS HART BENTON (1889-1975) PENCIL SIGNED LITHOGRAPH

Thomas Hart Benton (1889-1975)
Wyoming Autumn (1974)
The rarely seen large format lithograph in exceptional condition is published by Associated American Artists in an edition of 250 prints and signed by Benton in pencil below the image lower right. It is included in Fath's catalog as number 91. A nice, strong impression in fine condition.

Benton's comments in Fath read: During the fifties, I spent many Autumns in the mountains of Wyoming drawing and painting. This is the time cattle are brought down from the high pastures. The litho shows the pick up of a few strays.
Image measures 17 x 23.25, sheet is 22 x 28, and frame is 29.5 x 36 inches.
Very good to fine condition, very clean and complete, the full untrimmed sheet with wide margins and deckle edges all around, not laid down, no damage, stain, puncture or repair; framed to archival standards in acid free mounts.
Provenance: A Leawood, Kansas corporate collection.
