33: A GOOD, EARLY C.P. SHIPLEY HIGH BACK LOOP-SEAT SADDLE

The nice example with great lines has a pronounced A-fork pommel and high-angle cantle, front jockey, stamped decoration overall now faded, unusual loop seat, brass bound stirrups. The saddle is stamped with an early written out block letter maker's mark of C. P. SHIPLEY MAKER KANSAS CITY MO. No. 72.
Measures 15.75 inches from the base of the horn to the inside edge of the cantle.
Good condition, darkened, effects of age and dry surface, some warping of the leather.
