JAMES HAVENS (1900-1960) PPM GIFT PRINT FOR 1948

18: JAMES HAVENS (1900-1960) PPM GIFT PRINT FOR 1948

James D. Havens (1900-1960)
Cinnamon Fern and Verry (1948)
The color woodblock print from an edition of 200 is signed by the artist in pencil lower right and inscribed Del-Se-Imp - 1948.

Del Se Imp translates to delineavit, se impensis in Latin which translates to drawn by himself, printed at his own expense.

This image served as the seventeenth Prairie Print Makers Presentation Print for distribution to associate members and sale to the organization's membership.
Image measures 8.5 x 6.5, sheet is 11.75 x 9, and frame is 18 x 16.25 inches.
Very good condition, the full untrimmed sheet, not laid down, no damage, puncture or repair; framed to archival standards in acid free mounts. A pale shade of toning from a previous mat is barely evident in the outer margins of the sheet as shown in the images here outside the frame and mat and there are tabs of old paper tape mounts upper right and left.
Provenance: A Leawood, Kansas corporate collection.
