The rare drypoint etching signed by John De Martelley in pencil below the image lower right is inscribed 5th state-trial proof in the lower right margin. This scarce and poignant image includes reference to Kansas City's Liberty Memorial.
The number of prints pulled for this edition is not definitively known. One source reports that the plates were 'lost' after only a few impressions.
Image measures 11.5 x 14.25, sheet is 15 x 20 inches.
Very good to good condition, the full untrimmed sheet, not laid down, no major damage, stain, punctures, tears or repair, unframed and with edge wrinkles, soft creases, toning, three top margin paper tabs on the face, short edge tears.
