The large hand painted plaque depicts an Italian maiden with downcast gaze in silk dress with embroidered decoration leaning heavily on a stone plinth. The word or name FOSCA is on her bodice. The back side is stamped with the maker's 1896 - 1900 mark.
Measures 18 x 16 inches.
Minor surface rub or glaze flaw issue to the left of the figure, has the appearance of a scratch, though not deep or serious damage.
