220: A 25-INCH WILLIAM REID STERLING SALVER, LONDON, 1833

The exceptionally large example with date mark 1833 and maker's mark for the London silversmith William Ker Reid is adorned with a cast and applied border with elaborate shells and other decoration on the scrolled rim enclosing a plate with shaped edge and very wide band of flowers, foliates and scrolls engraved by hand. The central open area is centered by a handsome coat of arms.
Measures 2.75 x 25 inches. Weighs approximately 178.44 ozt.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
