Benton's comments in Fath read: This portrait was made at the request of Harry Abrams to accompany a special edition of a book he put together on my career. It is one of the few front-face portraits I have attempted.
Image measures 13 x 11, sheet is 18 x 15, and frame is 23 x 21 inches.
Very good condition, noting a very, very pale outline of toning framing the image and visible only outside the frame. otherwise very good with full sheet having all four deckle edges, not laid down, no damage or repair.
