KC ATHLETICS TEAM SIGNED BALL WITH ORIGINAL BOX PSA DNA

238: KC ATHLETICS TEAM SIGNED BALL WITH ORIGINAL BOX PSA DNA

The Reach brand baseball, near mint (if not mint) in its original individual box, is accompanied by a larger box and team-signed with 27 signatures including Spud Chandler, Ralph Terry, Harry Craft, Duke Maas, and Bob Cerv.

On July 22, 1958, The Athletics hosted 'Bob Cerv Day' to honor their slugger who hit 38 home runs that season. Bob was a Nebraska native who played on the Pioneer Night League around David City, Nebraska before going to the Big Leagues. On that day in July of '58, Denby Horacek, his old team manager from the David City days, and lots of other fiends and supporters, traveled to Kansas City for the celebration. Bob gifted them an entire box of team-signed balls. That larger box and four of those balls in their respective Reach boxes are being offered in this auction. Each is accompanied by a signed affidavit from Margie Horacek documenting the story behind this rare find, as well as LOA from PSA/DNA.
Very good condition, near mint in the original individual box, plus larger box also in excellent condition.
