217: A VERY FINE GEORGE II 18TH CENTURY GILTWOOD MIRROR

The exceptional example with carved scrolling pediment and central crest of engraved wood plumes , the lower edge with an exceptionally well carved shell in relief among engraved scrolls, the whole retains the original gilding with its original surface in fine, soft patina.

Purchased by the consignor at Kentshire Galleries, New York, New York.
Measures 58 x 32.5 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or wear, noting one repair with the grain to the central plume.
