228: AN APPROXIMATELY 18X12 PERSIAN SAROUK HAND MADE CARPET

The luxurious hand made Persian Sarouk carpet of wool on cotton foundation with blue weft cords is centered by a dark blue field knotted in multiple floral sprays enclosed by multiple smaller borders and a guard border with wine red ground (painted) and floral meanders nicely resolved at each corner.
Measures 216 x 142 inches.
Very fine condition. Clean and odor free with intact original edges, complete intact ends without loss, one with most tassels present, no damage, mothing, hardened areas, detectable stain or alteration, no heavy wear, generally even pile overall.
