The oil on canvas of a giant sequoia is signed G.N. Malm and dated lower right.

In the great tradition of Swedish immigrants settling in ''Little Sweden USA'', Gustav Malm moved to Lindsborg, Kansas with his wife in 1893. There he worked as a painter, muralist, writer and supporter of the arts programs at Bethany College.
Canvas measures 32 x 26 with a framed size of 37.5 x 32 inches.
Very good condition, noting a few scattered touches of inpainting visible under UV light.
