49: A HIGHBACK SADDLE WITH SIGNED ASKEW OF KANSAS CITY

The classic ranch saddle example with high A-fork embellished with laces and strings on the swell, a high pronounced cantle, a bit of foliate tooling on the seat jockey, stamped outlining on the skirts etc, eight conchos with stars, enameled maker's tag for Askew of Kansas City, Missouri back side of the cantle, rich mahogany patina.
Measures 14 inches from the gullet to the stitching on the cantle.
Good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear and the effects of age in some areas.
