This needlework composition is after a fiber art work first wrought by Georgiana Brown Harbeson (1894-1980) and pictured on the cover of NEEDLECRAFT The Home Arts Magazine July 1933. This rendition is simply signed 'N.' lower left and dated 1936 lower right. The artist is not known.

Georgiana Brown Harbeson was an artist and designer whose work appeared on and in magazines of the day like Vogue, Woman's Home Companion, and Ladies Home Journal. She is credited with elevating needlework to an art form in the first half of the 20th century and her work is found in, among others, the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Measures 18 x 14 inches.
