66: A 19TH C. RED AND BLACK QUILT WITH TRAPUNTO BASKET

The simple, two color design similar to Housetop pattern, with considerable visual impact, is centered by a folky basket and exuberant whirling grapevines in very tightly packed colored cottons finely sewn in trapunto technique. The backing is a floral print enclosed by black binding.
Measures 89 x 71 inches.
Very good condition, noting some scattered tatters, some repair to a few of the trapunto grapes.
