The Pennsylvania flax wheel, intact with the often missing distaff, has a greater number of finely crafted drive wheel spokes than most and is stamped with the maker's name and location N. LINDSAY READING on the bench.

Correspondence from the Berks County Pennsylvania Historical Society dated 1968 confirms that they have a similar model stamped N. LINDSAY in their collection and they provide information on 'turners' with similar names frOm circa 1800 Berks County.
Measures 45 x 34 x 21.5 inches.
Very good condition as shown, noting repair to the flyer.
