102: A 19TH CENTURY HOLLY MOTIF APPLIQUE QUILT

The arrangement of nine appliqued blocks incorporating the serrated leaves and berries suggestive of a holly plant but abstracted, and with heart motifs added. The blocks are enclosed in a grid of yellow and light green sashing, Hand quilted, muslin backing and light green binding.
Measures 78 x 77 inches.
Very good condition, noting toning and scattered stains, light tatters and fade.
Provenance: The Estate of the Legendary Collector J. Loyd Davis, Prairie Village, KS.
