137: AN EMERSON CATALIN RADIO DESIGNED BY NORMAN BEL GEDDES

The Emerson onyx catalin case tabletop radio Model FC-400 Aristocrat with two-color wrap-around grille and spring-loaded handle is after the design by Modernist and Futurist designer Norman Bel Geddes (1893 - 1958). It may initially have been an onyx green, the grill is an alternating cream and brown grid.
Measures 8 x 11 x 5.25 inches.
Very good condition, free from warping or shrinking of the case, no back, no chips or cracks or heavy wear; a small surface stain lower right corner of the grille on the case surface, lights and buzzes in our metal building. See our web site for a video.
