Barry Coffin (Kansas Native American 1947-2016)

The classic Barry Coffin sculpture in bright colorful glazes depicts a Native American brave with pronounced features and breastplate encircled with animal claws is signed along the base and dated '98.

Barry Coffin was a Lawrence, Kansas native of Potawatomi and Creek descent. He attended the University of Kansas and later received his Associate of Fine Arts degree from the Institute of American Indian Art. His work is represented by numerous Santa Fe Galleries and held in the permanent collections of a number of museums.
Measures 13 x 10 x 6 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear.
