Fisher Boy and Dog at Crossing (Third quarter of the 19th Century.)
The classic British School landscape depicting a pleasant summer day is nicely lit by the sun from left to right with interesting atmospheric effect portrayed on the trunks of the large creekside trees. A boy and dog approach a make-do crossing of rocks from the right. No monogram or signature was found.
Canvas measures 32.25 x 50.5 with a framed size of 42.25 x 62 inches.
Good condition, noting the work has been relined and there are scattered areas of inpainting as shown in the images under UV light. There are small bits of loss on the boy's arm.
