The lithograph published by Associated American Artists in an edition of 300 prints on Rives watermarked paper is signed by the artist in pencil below the image lower right and listed as Fath catalog number 84.

This is a fine, darkly inked impression.


Benton's comments in Fath read: 'This is a study, from the mirror image of an old artist, 'grandaddy Benton' as all the kids call me. I had a belly when I did it but after building a stone retaining wall, 65 feet long and in some places 10 feet high, on our place in Martha's Vinyard, I got rid of it. It hasn't come back.'
Image size 19.5 x 13.75, the sheet measures 24 x 18.25, the frame is 30 x 24.5 inches.
Very good to fine condition, very clean, the full untrimmed sheet with all four deckle edges, not laid down, no damage, stain, punctures, tears or repair; framed to archival standards in acid free mounts.
