9836: A FINE 19C. GILT BRONZE AND BOHEMIAN GLASS CENTERPIECE

(Third quarter of the 19th century.)
The oval crystal bowl is delicately engraved through the ruby flash finish to a soft matte depiction of a cow and bull elk in an elaborate woodland setting. The Louis XVI style ormolu bronze stand with scrolling acanthus handles is raised by four hairy paw supports terminating in goat's heads near the bowl. The quatrefoil base is attached with iron bolts secured with cut iron bolts, confirming the mid 19th century origin.
Measures 11.5 x 15 x 8.5 inches.
Very good condition noting some very fine flakes to the upper rim visible mostly with magnification. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear.
