The lithograph published by Associated American Artists in an edition of 250 prints is signed by the artist in pencil below the image lower right and listed as Fath catalog number 8.


Benton's comments in Fath read: Drawing made in South Carolina in 1934 - showing Tugwell's program in operation.


Under the Agricultural Adjustment Administration during the Great Depression, recently planted spring crops were once ploughed under in an attempt to stabilize prices.

Poor condition.
Image measures 8.5 x 13.5, sheet is 11.5 x 16, and frame is 16.75 x 22 inches.
Poor condition, serious mat burn, laid down to cardboard, notches in the margins of the sheet.
