105: RICHARD IAMS (B. 1950) OIL ON BOARD

Richard Iams (Born 1950)

The oil on board conveys the evening hues of shadow on the desert floor and sunshine on foothills. The work is signed by the artist lower right front and displayed in a handsome, custom, pickled wood frame.

As a math major in college, Richard Iams found himself in a random art class and apparently never looked back. Later, after teaching art at the junior high and community college level, he pivoted to pursuing a full time career as an artist. His focus became the landscape of Texas and Arizona, where he became recognized as having mastered the depiction of Grand Canyon views. He later became equally well-known as a painter of American and African wildlife.
Board measures 9 x 12 with a framed size of 16 x 19 inches.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up. There is a chip on the frame liner.
Provenance: Private Overland Park, Kansas Collection.
$600 - $800
