25: CLARENCE TEED (1914-1987) WALNUT 'WEAVER'S WORKSTAND'
Clarence Teed (1914-1987)
(circa Third quarter of the 20th century.)
The joined walnut top with rich oiled finish is fashioned with a work basket at one end with a rack of spindles, and raised on a Modernist frame of four tapering rounded legs joined by sculpted curvilinear walnut stretchers. Per usual, this work by the designer craftsman Clarence Teed of Kansas City, Missouri blends the concepts of function and art. It was purchased direct from the artist's estate.
Two 'shuttles' carved and signed by Clarence Teed are included, along with unrelated weaver's accoutrements.
Measures 30 x 25.75 x 11 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
