Sidney Wiggins was a New England painter and printmaker who studied at the National Academy under Robert Henri and others.

He was a member of the Salmagundi Club as well as the Yonkers Art Association where he served as president for a time.

The location of this clapboard cottage could easily be rural Westchester County (New York) countryside.
