Two original early 20th century French illustrations.

1. Mixed media with pen and ink on paper attributed to the illustrator Rene Georges Hermann-Paul (1864-1940). The satirical caption poking fun at the art market and gallery world reads ''Your painting fetched 60,000 at the sale: now it's a matter of finding a buyer.'' Sheet measures 11.75H x 10W inches. Artist's mark lower right.

2. A very well drafted charcoal composition by an unidentified artist. Image measures 8 x 11.75, sheet is 10H x 13.5W inches.

Provenance: From a private collection in Fayetteville, Ark, acquired from the estate of New York art dealer Eric Carlson via Swann Auction Galleries, NYC.
