James R. Hamil (Kansas, 1937-2022)

1. The Yampa in Summer watercolor signed lower right and titled lower left. Artist's note on the frame liner verso reads 'Late afternoon view of the Yampa River neat the base of the ski area at Steamboat Springs. The barn is part of a farm where they take two or three cuttings of hay. It is bailed into rectangular bales and stacked for winter feed.'

2. Watercolor on artist's board signed lower right, artist's comments on a note verso read 'This storm appeared one afternoon eastern Colo. and gone in a few minutes.'
Yampa sight size measures 13.5 x 19.5, frame is 17.25H x 23.25W inches. Board measures 16 x 20, frame is 18.5H x 22.5W inches.
The condition is very good, very clean, intact, no visible stain, damage, repair, punctures or tears. This work has not been examined outside the frame.
