The charming, luminous and beautifully placid small format view is signed lower right front and inscribed in detail verso.
After years painting in Europe and across New England, Diehl began spending summers in Provincetown in the early 20th century. From roughly the 1910s through the 1920s, he maintained a seasonal studio there and painted numerous small-format oils like this example with its charming dedication in the artist's hand verso, the year before his passing:

Board measures 10 x 7 with a framed size of 11.75H x 8.75W inches.
Very good condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
