Not much is known about the artist Victor Renson. This painting, signed lower right front, is also inscribed '82 near the signature. Judging by the style of the work and the craquelure of the paint, this would be 1882. That said, many sources list Renson as a 20th century artist. Other sources, including belgian-art-gallery.be, list an artist named Gilbert Renson who was born in 1885 as son of the artist Victor Renson.
Canvas measures 23.5 x 20 with a framed size of 31H x 27W x 3.25D inches.
