Charles Fritz is celebrated for his plein air paintings, often completed outdoors to capture the light and atmosphere like in the painting up for bid here. Fritz was born in Mason City, Iowa. He studied history and education at Iowa State University. In 1980, he relocated to Montana to pursue a full-time career in art. He still lives in Billings, Montana. Charles Fritz paintings have been exhibited at The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, The C.M. Russell Museum, The Buffalo Bill Center of the West, The Denver Art Museum, The Charles H. MacNider Art Museum and others.
