The oil on Masonite inscribed to University of Missouri professor of veterinary medicine Dr. H. H. Berrier depicts vignettes of Columbia, Missouri and is signed lower right with the date of 1956.
Sydney Larson was a Missouri artist, educator, and muralist who studied under two other artists in this auction: Fred Shane and Thomas Hart Benton. Notably, he assisted Benton on the Truman Library mural and created numerous public artworks across Missouri himself including murals at the Boone County Courthouse, Shelter Insurance headquarters, Columbia Public Library, Columbia College, and the Rolla Daily News Building.
He was also a conservator of Thomas Hart Benton's works.
Board measures 24 x 30 with a framed size of 31.75H x 37.75W inches.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
